Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal data Product Charts processes, why, and the choices and rights you have.

Who runs Product Charts
Product Charts (getproductcharts.com) is operated by an individual based in Ireland, not by a company. That individual decides how and why the personal data described here is processed (the “controller”).
For anything about this notice or your data, email hello@getproductcharts.com.
What we process
Your account. Your email address and password, which are handled by our authentication provider (we never see your password), when your account was created and confirmed, and whether it has admin access.
Product submissions. What you submit about a product (name, website, description, suggested category, logo address and whether you run it or found it), linked to your account, plus the review decision and any note from the reviewer.
Ownership claims. Your role at the product (founder, co-founder or team member), your account email, an optional work email, an optional note you add as evidence, and the review decision and any note.
Follows. Which products you follow and when. Your follows are private.
Founder signals. If you own a listed product: whether it is Open to offers, We're hiring or Open to collaborate, and an optional contact link. These are shown publicly on the product's profile.
Connected revenue (Stripe). If you connect your product's Stripe account: the restricted, read-only key you provide (stored encrypted), the Stripe account identifier, and the subscription data we read with it to calculate aggregate figures such as recurring revenue, growth and the number of paying customers. Customer identifiers are only used to count customers and are not stored. Public charts never show revenue amounts or anything about your customers.
Public metrics authorization. Connecting Stripe requires you to authorize Product Charts to calculate verified revenue-derived metrics and publicly display selected Growth and Breakout metrics for your product, such as its growth rate and rank. We record that authorization: the product, the Stripe connection and account it covers, the exact wording you agreed to (by version), your account and the time. Individual transactions, customer-level payment data and API credentials are never displayed publicly.
Security and review records. A record of important actions (for example submissions, claims and their decisions, Stripe connections and admin actions), with the account that performed them and the time.
Technical data. When you visit, our hosting and database providers process technical data such as your IP address, browser details and the pages requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure.
Emails you send us. Your email address and whatever you choose to write.
Why we process it, and our legal bases
We process personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- To provide the service you ask for (performance of a contract): your account and sign-in, submissions, claims, follows, founder signals and connecting revenue.
- Your consent: publicly displaying Growth and Breakout metrics derived from your connected Stripe data. You can withdraw it at any time on your product's Stripe page; your product then leaves public Growth and Breakouts immediately. Withdrawing doesn't affect what was displayed before.
- Legitimate interests: reviewing submissions and claims, keeping security and review records, preventing abuse, keeping the site running and secure, and replying to messages. Our interest is running an accurate, trustworthy and secure product directory.
- Legal obligations, where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
We don't sell personal data, show advertising or use your data for profiling.
Cookies and similar technologies
Product Charts only uses cookies that are needed to keep you signed in: the session cookies set by our authentication provider, and a short-lived cookie used while you confirm your email address. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
Product logos are loaded from the address the product provided, so your browser connects to that website to show them. We ask your browser not to send it the page you were on.
Who helps us run Product Charts
- Supabase: database, authentication and account emails such as email confirmation.
- Vercel: hosting and scheduled background jobs.
- Stripe: only if you connect it. We read your data from your own Stripe account with the key you provide. Product Charts isn't endorsed or approved by Stripe.
- Our email provider, which hosts the hello@getproductcharts.com inbox.
They process data on our behalf to provide their services. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
International transfers
Some of these providers are based in, or may process data in, countries outside the European Economic Area, including the United States. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer for such transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Account data: for as long as your account exists.
- Follows: until you unfollow, or your account is deleted.
- Founder signals: until you change them; they are cleared when the product's ownership changes.
- Stripe key: deleted when you disconnect Stripe.
- Public metrics authorization: ends when you withdraw it, disconnect Stripe or the product's ownership changes. Its record is kept, as proof of what was authorized and when.
- Submissions, claims and their decisions, and security and review records: kept as a record of how listings and ownership were decided, for as long as needed for that purpose.
- Emails: for as long as needed to deal with your message.
- Technical logs: for the periods our hosting and database providers keep them.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to receive a copy of it, to restrict its processing, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email hello@getproductcharts.com, ideally from the address of your account, so we can confirm the request is yours.
There's no self-service account deletion yet: email us and we'll handle it. If you own a listed product, its ownership is resolved first. Some records may need to be kept where we have a legitimate reason or a legal obligation, and we'll tell you if so.
You can also complain to a data protection authority. In Ireland, that is the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
Changes to this notice
We'll update this notice when what we process changes, and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be made clear on this page.
